A report on the Wing Chun Seminar in Guangzhou, organized by the Chin Woo Athletic Association of Guangzhou, Chaired by Yuen Jo-Tong (grand-son of Yuen Kay-San), and presented by Shum Ngan (disciple of Yuen Kay-Shan), Guangzhou Youth Centre, 20:15 - 21:30, 15 November 1996, during the International Chin Woo Wushu, Athletic and Cultural Exchange Meeting.

Lun, Yueng, & SumShum Ngan (Sum Nung) is Consultant of Martial Arts Association in Guangzhou; Honourable Chairman of Martial Arts Association of Education Academy; Physician-in-Charge of Department of Orthopaedics of Cheung Hua Hospital, Guangzhou; Chairman of Wing Chun Society of Martial Arts Association in Guangzhou; and Consultant of Flighting of Shao Lin Martial Arts Association, Shang Zhi Town of Hei Long Jing.

During the seminar, after an introduction was given by Yuen Jo-Tong; Shum Ngan gave a short briefing on the genealogy of Yuen Kay San Wing Chun, Zi Wu line (Meridian line) and the three buddhist hands' training methods and applications, and his health preservation Qi Gong. Then it was followed with the demonstration of the Siu Nim Tao (Tiger/Crane) by Qiu Long Xing, Wu Shu instructor of the Chin Woo Athletic Association of Fo Shan.

Then it was Lun Jie (one of Yip Man's earlier students in Fo Shan), performing Siu Nim Tao. Then it was the Siu Nim Tao of Pao Fa Lien Wing Chun by Leon Man, instructor of Chin Woo Athletic Association of Hong Kong. There was a request for Pan San Wing Chun but was turned down, and the request for Gu Lao Wing Chun was also truned down. A student of Yip Chun also performed Siu Nim Tao. The seminar ended at around 21:30 and followed with photo, discussion, etc. There were a number of questions asked during the seminar but mostly very general by visitors.

This is historical to have so many different Wing Chun stylists coming together in one meeting. This was also the first time since the Cultural Revolution that Shum Ngan and Lun Jie, who were childhood friends in Foshan, met.
