Sum Nung's wing chun kuen ancestors began appearing in print in
the 1920s. Yuen Kay-San and his exploits, including his duels with
fist and pole fighters, as well as Sum Nung's early matches became
the subject of newspaper articles and books by writers such as Au
Soi-Jee. In modern times, Yuen Kay-San's grandson, Yuen Jo-Tong
and grandmaster Sum Nung's students and grandstudents have helped
spearhead the dissemination of information on grandmaster Sum Nung
and his art.
