Bo-Chuen (Huo Baoquan) learned his wing chun kuen from Wong
Wah-Bo and Painted
Face Kam in the city of Foshan where he served as a ngao
moon bo tao (Imperial constable) during the end of the Ching
dynasty. Fok was renowned for his remarkable depth of martial knowledge,
his wing chun kuen skill, and especially his talent with blades,
which earned him the nickname Seung Do Fok (Shuang Do Huo, Double
Knife Fok).
In the early 1900s, Fok Bo-Chuen was
hired by the owner of the fireworks store on Zhenbai road to teach
his sons, Yuen Chai-Wan and Yuen
Kay-San, the skills of wing chun kuen.

Siu-Ching (Feng Shaoqing) was a native of Shunde, Guangdong.
At a young age he moved to Guangzhou where he apprenticed at the
Dragon & Phoenix Embroidery shop that, among other things, made
costumes for the Red Junk members. Fung proved ill-suited for a
life as a embroiderer but, fortunately, a chance encounter with
Painted Face Kam
led to him being taken as the opera performer's student.
Fung remained on the Red Junks until he was an adult,
and thereafter traveled the region, taught some students, and eventually
began work as a body-guard (reportedly for the Governor of Sichuan
province), and later an Imperial Marshal in Guangdong.
When he was just over 70 years of age Fung retired
to the Yuen Family Estate located on Songyuan Dajie (Mulberry
Gardens Mainstreet) in Foshan, and taught the martial arts to Yuen
Kay-San and his elder brother Yuen Chai-Wan. Studying alongside
them were Ma Jung-Yiu, Ngao Shi (the grand-teacher of Cheung
Bo) and others.
Fung Siu-Ching lived, taught, and was cared for
at the Yuen family estate until he passed away at the age of 73.
Yuen Kay-San and
his classmates officiated at the old marshal's funeral.
